About the visit of the Delegation of the Republic of Belarus to London to take part in the 25th EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum

May 10 – 12, 2016 the Delegation of the Republic of Belarus, being headed by Mr Vladimir Semashko, visited London to take part in the 25th EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum. The Ambassador of Belarus in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Sergei Aleinik has joined the Delegation alongside with the representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport, the National Bank, as well as the state banks.
The head of Belarusian delegation met with EBRD’s President Suma Chakrabarti . During the current state and prospects of the Bank’s activity in Belarus have been discussed, as well as priority areas for mutually beneficial cooperation in future. The focus has been made on drafting the EBRD’s Country Strategy for Belarus 2016 – 2019.
During the first day of the visit the delegation also met with the management teams for infrastructure, financial institutions, environment and sustainable development, and also with the delegation of the European Commission
The bilateral Agreement was signed at the EBRD Headquarters in London to allow for the EBRD’s participation in the “M-10 Motorway reconstruction” project, which is the first ever public-private partnership project in Belarus supported by the EBRD.
The Delegation participated in the official programme of the Annual Meeting and Business Forum, as well as to meet with partners from the European Investment Bank, some other international financial institutions, and also from the banking sector.
