The Republic of Belarus is participating in Timber Expo in Birmingham (Great Britain)

On 10-12 October 2017 woodworking enterprises of the Republic of Belarus debut in the exhibition “Timber Expo” in Birmingham. Joint Belarusian pavilion designed in the form of a national exposition where the largest Belarusian exporters of wood products are presented.

The Belarusian exposition is established under the auspices of the concern Bellesbumprom, Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the United Kingdom, UE “Belinterexpo”. The Belarusian delegation is presented by the managing staff of “Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus”, BelCCI, OJSC “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange”, UE “Bellesexport” under the Ministry of Forestry, JSC “Belarusian Forest Company”, Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Belarus, etc.

On 11 October 2017, in association with the British Timber Trade Federation, there was organized a sectorial seminar-conference on Belarus. H.E. Sergei Aleinik, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in the United Kingdom, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants. Within the framework of the exhibition, presentations of trade and investment opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of wood processing were held, as well as B2B meetings.

Reference: The exhibition “Timber Expo 2017” is the major specialized woodworking event held annually in the UK. In 2016, the exhibition was visited by more than 30 thousand industry professionals. At the same time, Great Britain is a net importer of the entire line of woodworking products. In 2016 import of wood products to the UK raised to 6.6 billion US dollars.
