Ambassador Sergei Aleinik visited Manchester

On 30 September – 2 October 2019, the Ambassador of Belarus to the United Kingdom, Sergei Aleinik paid a working visit to Manchester.
During the visit, the Ambassador participated in the conference of the Conservative Party, during which a number of bilateral discussions with leading British politicians and Members of Parliament took place, including the Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, the Rt Hon Christopher Pincher MP and Minister of State of the Department of International Trade Conor Burns MP. The sides discussed the issue of developing bilateral political, trade and economic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Great Britain taking into account the UK's exit from the EU on 31 October 2019.

To enhance inter-regional bilateral relations Ambassador held meetings with the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Abid Latif Chohan, as well as in the Chamber of Commerce and the Transport for Greater Manchester. The sides comprehensively discussed the bilateral agenda, including ways for the development of interregional trade, economic and investment cooperation, interaction in the field of information technology.

The parties plan to expand the collaboration in the field of green technologies and environmentally friendly public transport, will consider the possibility of testing the Belarusian electric bus in Manchester in 2020.
