About the visits of Ambassador to Liverpool and Manchester

On 5th-7th October 2015 Sergei Aleinik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, paid a working visit to Liverpool and Manchester.

When in Liverpool the Ambassador held a series of meetings with Lord Mayor of Liverpool Tony Concepcion, Cabinet Member for Business, Enterprise & Investment of the City Council Gary Millar, Head of International Trade & Commercial Services of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Andy Snell. The sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, investments and education. The prospects of cooperation between the National Library of Belarus and Liverpool City Library were considered at the meeting with Head of Library Section of the City Council John Keane.

The Ambassador attended the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester, where the views on actual issues of bilateral relations were exchanged with Foreign Secretary of the UK Philip Hammond, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport John Whittingdale and a number of MPs.

During the working visit to Manchester the discussions were held with Deputy Head of the City Council Sue Murphy and Chief Executive of the Chamber of Commerce of the region Clive Memmott. The sides outlined the perspective areas of bilateral cooperation, practical steps of bilateral trade intensification, investment increase, cooperation in the fields of education, culture and sport.
